This is difficult. Difficult because I'm rarely surprised by a twist. And by rarely, I mean never. I'm the kind of reader that over-thinks, over-analyzes, scrutinizes words, sentences, meanings, etc. I'm the same with movies, even though, I'll tell you which one got me...SHUTTER ISLAND. SHUTTER. FREAKING. ISLAND. And guess what? It's a top favorite because of that. Surprise me and you'll make it to my favorites. No joke. That's how seldom I'm surprised. So this one topic is soooooo hard for me to answer. SO. SO. SO. HARD. Because I have not actually read the book Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane (a fellow FIU ALUMN! lol), I would be cheating by using that book to answer this question. Because I am a cheater, I'm going to do it anyway. I'm going to read this book soon, so there's that. I will do this though...I will also answer with a book that surprised me IN THE END but not because of the ending. You have to read it. You have to read the entire book, feel the entire book, breathe the entire book...and then read the parting words...and then, only then, will you understand this post. That book is The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay.
